46.It slipped my mind
→ I forgot
→ 깜빡했어

ex) Sorry, it slipped my mind.

      (미안, 깜빡했어.)

→ It slipped my mind가 직역영어로 어려운 이유

→ You can do it
→ 넌 할 수 있어

ex) You’ve practiced a lot. You got this!
      (많이 연습했잖아. 넌 할 수 있어!)

→ You got this가 직역영어로는 설명되지 않는 이유

 

48.I’m on it
→ I’ll handle it right now
→ 지금 할게 / 맡겨둬

ex) A: Can you send that file?

          (그 파일 보내줄 수 있어?)
      B: I’m on it.
          (지금 할게.)

→ I’m on it을 직역영어로 받아들이면 생기는 오해

→ That’s pretty much everything
→ 그게 다야 / 거의 다 말했어

ex) That’s about it for today’s meeting.
      (오늘 회의는 여기까지야.)
